I feel like way too many people get their style advice from social media (and I’m saying this as someone who shares style advice on social media!). My concern is that social media is all about quick tips & short snippets - but with little to no follow up or next steps.
Don’t get me wrong - I’m all for bite-sized advice that can have an impact on your style. It’s actually my focus on Instagram (click to see what I share & follow me). But I see people who follow advice & then still feel perplexed. Or they’re executing on tips that don’t make sense for their style or lifestyle.
For example, there’s always talk about ‘capsule wardrobes’. And the capsule wardrobes that most influencers share are based in neutrals with very simple silhouettes. But what if your style isn’t all about neutrals & simplicity? I had a client who was trying to achieve a capsule wardrobe & almost tossed all her colorful, detailed pieces - because she thought they couldn’t work with a capsule wardrobe.
So, with all that being said - this month, I wanted to offer you a ‘next step’ to the advice I shared in last month’s style challenge…
